They earned a reputation and played in a lot of places locally. Around 1965 they changed their style and name. The Maxwells were born. In late 1966 some members appeared in The beggars opera and Superman, stage plays in Denmark. In 1967 , they acclaimed the first psychedelic show in Denmark called WE, a collage of scenes and songs. At the time with a very sensational light show, all handmade with gramophone motors, old glass ans slide projectors. They collaborated with contemporary composer Per Norgaard, who wrote some songs for the group. In October 1967 Maxwells supported Frank Zappa's "Mothers of Invention". For these concerts the band had composed a "collage style" set. The set the band put together for these concerts started with a recital of a Dada poem in a sort of acapella unisono singing, slowly developing into a wild climax 40 minutes later. Club Moral 052 - Now I am Death [part 2/2]

"Now I Am Death" is a Super8 movie by DDV. Originally titled "Now I Am Death, the Destroyer of the World", it was originally made for an exhibition "Young Artists from Antwerpen in Gent" in 1983. The exhibition was spread over three venues: the Campo Santo cemetary in Sint-Amandsberg, Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens in Deurle and De Gele Zaal in Gent. ### ### ### While the people were walking around on the opening of the exhibition on the Campo Santo cemetary, I was digging a grave underneath a tree. When it was finished I lay down and the grave was covered with earth and finished with chains and a cross by Ross Cannon of ProduKtion. I stayed buried for about 45 minutes until everybody had to leave to go to the second part of the exhibition by a special bus. While everybody was on the other location, I transported the grave to the third and final location of the exhibition. There the grave was reconstructed, me laying upside down in it, with a chain attached to my feet. As the people came in, main lights were turned off and the film and a slide-series were started. Then I was pulled out by my feet out of the grave by use of a pulley by Paul Hurst of ProduKtion. My body was hanging in front of the projectors, images projected onto human body. In a microphone I repeated the words ""Now I Am Death, the Destroyer of the World". The sound went into a synthesizer, treated by Paul Hurst, distorting the words in loud hellish sound-bursts. SmithsonIslandProject.mov

"Smithson Island Project" is a video Exquisite Corpse which evolves from my memory of a pencil drawing by Robert Smithson executed in 1970 titled "Island Project". The scenes (chambers) were not created in sequence and there is no conscious narrative. The project originated in 2007 and this version was completed in 2009. there are two related works, a 35mm slide show for two projectors and a 16mm film loop. The three works use the same source material created in Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Mudbox and edited in Adobe After Effects. There is no audio. These works are part of a series I collectively refer to as "Islands In The Bitstream" including another self created Exquisite Corpse which uses one of Arnold Bocklin's Isle Of The Dead paintings as a starting point.

Finding the Best Photo Scanner - What to Look for

• High Scanning Resolution: an example of a scanner with good resolution would be the Canon CanoScan 9000F, which has a maximum 9600 x 9600 color resolution along with a 48-bit color depth and over 281 trillion colors.


• Photo Restoration: if you are scanning old photo negatives, then it's useful to be able to instantly retouch any imperfections along the way.


• Bundled Photo Software: once you've scanned in your photos, you want to be able to view and edit them on your computer, so it's useful if the scanner comes with some good photo editing software.
