Slide Show At Our Wedding

Before the age of video editors, we had a couple of days before the wedding to put this together with two slide projectors and a dissolve machine. This is a video copy off the screen. We realized later it was too long, but fun to see nonetheless.

The music is an original track by the Three Key Sound (Heathcote/ Baines/ MacMathuna), recorded at Punishment Farm studio in Deptford with Bevan Burke, and originally due for release by BMG. Film of part of the original light-show by Fisheye Films which used to be projected onto the back walls of venues when the 3KS were playing live; it was semi-automated, on a series of slide-projectors controlled by an ancient computer called the Eagle.

SLIDE PROJECTION EXPERIMENT

This is a little instalation I made around 2006. It uses 2 slide projectors, which project the pictures matching the existing hanger and door. One of the pictures is a negative wersion of another. When you enter a hand (or anything else) into the lightbeam of one of the projectors, the picture from another projector appears within it's shadow. This was a part of my little research on how to make intereactive installations with only slide projectors (no movement detectors or anything like that).

Teen Film Making Camp: Lights, Camera, Action!

Museum London launched its first Teen Camp this summer and partnered with Fanshawe College's Film Production Department to realize a series of short films. Instructor Kelly O'Dette taught the campers about older format for film making, like 8, 16 and 35 mm, and had the teens explore non-conventional equipment such as slide and overhead projectors. Fanshawe College brought the teens back up to date by lending iMacs with Final Cut Pro, as well as other equipment, and student Brittany Farhat was hired to edit the short films.
